This post is part of an ongoing challenge to share a little joy I have found each day of this year, and perhaps for the rest of my life. I hope you enjoy it!

Remembering all the little things in our day to day lives that we enjoy is difficult.
As the annoyances and disappointments of the day sink their teeth into us, we slowly push aside all the small, normal good things we have going for us so that we can more effectively be negative about our lives.
I think one of the most underappreciated household items is our beds. You may hear people constantly saying how they can’t wait to get home and into their beds, but you will never hear people genuinely thankful about the fact that they have a comfortable bed to sleep in in the first place.
In many parts of the world, a big, fluffy, comfy bed with a couple of pillows is not the norm. Heck, having been traveling for so long now, simply finding a bed that doesn’t leave me sore is a challenge, so you can imagine what it is like for those living in poverty.
After splurging on myself and getting a little better room accommodations yesterday, I finally got a decent bed.
It is like being tethered to a cloud and floating away, it’s so damn comfortable.
If traveling has taught me one thing, it is that due to our materialistic lifestyles, we lose sight of the most important things. We forget that it’s the simple blessings like a good, comfortable bed that make a day great, not all the crap society tries to sell us about the “good life”.
Some tasty food, a roof over your head, friends and family, movement and play, all these things can be cheap or free, and bring you the maximum joy in your life.
Especially a comfy bed.
