This post is part of an ongoing challenge to share a little joy I have found each day of this year, and perhaps for the rest of my life. I hope you enjoy it!

January 24th, 2020

The Vietnamese celebrated their new years last night here in the coastal city of Da Nang.

It was a relaxed atmosphere, not as crazy as I am used to out in Canada. Some fireworks and and whispered prayers, then silence.

I am not one for holiday celebrations or much partying of any kind, but I consider it a blessing to be born in a time when large parts of the world have the opportunity to experience enough security that they can take the time to celebrate in the first place.

Every single day that we have a chance to simply exist, free from violence and starvation is a gift.

Never forget that.
